Marissa Famiglietti

Teaching Background

Ms. Famiglietti been the private voice teacher at Chase Collegiate School in Waterbury, CT since 2007. Her studio has grown consistently over her time at the school and includes both male and female students ranging from grades 2 through 12. She is very proud to have several of her Upper School students participating in the CMEA Regional and All-State chorus festivals. In 2008 Ms. Famiglietti was invited to join the voice faculty at the Westover School in Middlebury, CT, where she taught a studio of girls in grades 9 through 12 for 6 years. Ms. Famiglietti strives to provide a comfortable, non-threatening learning environment where each student can feel free to explore the joys of singing. In addition to learning healthy breathing and basic natural singing techniques, the students work on their ear training, sight-singing, and music theory skills. Public recitals each term allow the students to learn performance practice and present their hard work to family and friends.

In addition to her voice studio at Chase Collegiate School, Ms. Famiglietti teaches Pre-K through 5th grade classroom music. Along with her husband, bass-baritone Shae Apland, and pianist Holly McCann, Ms. Famiglietti performs as a teaching artist in Puccini to Pops. This program introduces students to a range of vocal music from opera to popular musical theater and jazz. For more information please visit
